Lead Poisoning Prevention Program

  • Provides education for the community regarding lead poisoning risks and nutrition

Early Intervention Program


A family-centered program which coordinates services for families with children, starting from birth, to the age of three, with disabilities or delayed development. Services are based on the needs of the child, and may include one or more of the following:
  • Assistive technology
  • Audiology
  • Multi-disciplinary developmental evaluation
  • Services such as speech, physical and occupational therapy, and special education

Children With Special Health Care Needs


For individuals ages zero to 21 years of age, with special needs, network families with community resources and programs will offer advice on issues such as insurance, equipment, education, and respite care.

Maternal & Child Home Visitation Program


The Livingston County Department of Health is committed to enhancing the health and well being of mother and child. The maternal / child health team of community health nurses are available to make home visits, answer questions, provide encouragement, guidance, and support in the following areas:
  • Breastfeeding support
  • Feeding the baby
  • Growth and development
  • High risk pregnancy
  • Immunizations
  • Newborn care
  • Nutrition education
  • Parenting issues
  • Postpartum education and counseling
  • Prenatal education and counseling
  • Preparation for childbirth
