Clerk of the Board
The Office of the Clerk of the Board is a key department at the county government level whose primary goal is to assist the Board of Supervisors in carrying out all of its actions. The office is the source of reliable information, a research arm for the board, record-keeper of board actions, policies, and procedures, and is the link to all departments in the county and the constituency at large. The vast majority of work performed by this office is governed by state rules and regulations.

Board Meetings
Board meetings are held on the second and fourth Wednesday each month at 1:30 p.m., except when such days fall on a holiday, in which event the meeting shall be held on the day following.  In the months of November and December, the meeting shall be held on the Wednesday preceding Thanksgiving and Christmas week.

Meetings are conducted at the Livingston County Government Center:
Board of Supervisors Assembly Room
6 Court St.
Third Floor
Geneseo, NY 14454

The standing committees meet at least monthly. All board and committee meetings are open to the public.

Record Keeping
The Office of the Clerk is responsible for notifying board members of all meetings and is
required by law to record all board and the standing committees' meeting minutes and maintain the records. A book of the supervisors' proceedings containing all of the board minutes, resolutions, and local laws adopted by the board during the course of a calendar year is prepared on an annual basis. This book also contains the adopted county budget, summaries of town budgets, and various reports.

Event Planning
The office is also responsible for organizing special events for the county such as the Employee Recognition Ceremony, groundbreaking and ribbon cutting ceremonies for building projects, honoring public officials, etc.

Addressing Concerns
If you have an issue that you would like to address to the Board, we ask that you present your comments to the appropriate standing committee. You may contact the office requesting your desire to address the committee and the Office of the Clerk of the Board will inform you when the next meeting is scheduled.

The protocol is that all matters of concern are referred to the standing committee, and if approved, the committee refers the matter to the Board of Supervisors for deliberation and action.

We are always available for the citizens of the county to answer any questions or to direct
complaints to the appropriate department or individual. If you have any questions, concerns, or requests about this office or any office of county government, call or email the office and we will gladly assist you.
