Foster Grandparent Program
Foster Grandparents are mentors and friends to children who can benefit from the educational and emotional support of an older adult. The program provides a way for volunteers age 55 and over to stay active by serving children and youth in their communities. Volunteers serve in public and private schools, Head Starts, day cares and youth centers as tutors and positive role models for a minimum of 15 hours per week during the school year.

This volunteer program is open to income eligible male and female residents of Livingston, Steuben and Wyoming counties. Benefits include a tax-free stipend (approximately $175-$400 per month), some transportation reimbursement, training and other benefits.

For more information about how to become a Foster Grandparent Volunteer, please contact: Deb Gage, Director @ 585.243.7520

The Foster Grandparent Program is a program of the Corporation for National and Community Service (click on the link for more info on CNCS)
