Criminal Investigations

The Criminal Investigation Division is responsible for conducting investigations in major or significant crimes and serious or fatal motor vehicle accidents, suicides, background investigations, and internal investigations.

Personnel

One Captain, five investigators and one identification sergeant staff the division.

Community Affiliations

In order for the division to conduct its primary investigative function, liaison and interface with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies is a necessity. The division maintains a presence on a variety of boards to include the Livingston County Rape Crisis, Youth Sexual Abuse Task Force, Youth Assessment Committee, Sub-committee on Substance Abuse and Partnership for Adult Service Boards. Community affiliations are held in TRIAD, D.A.R.E., KID ID and Neighborhood Watch programs.

Equipment

Acquisition of new high-tech surveillance and communications equipment enhance overall division investigative capability and efficiency, particularly in narcotics investigations.
