Criminal possession of a firearm, rifle or shotgun in a Sensitive Location (Penal Law § 265.01-e)

 A person is guilty of criminal possession of a firearm, rifle or shotgun in a sensitive location when such person possesses a firearm, rifle or shotgun in or upon a sensitive location, and such person knows or reasonably should know such location is a sensitive location.

How to Obtain a Pistol Permit

You must come into the County Clerk's Office or someone else can pick up your application 8am-3:45pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday or 8am-5:45pm Thursday the fee is $10 we accept cash, check or credit card.

The requirements are as follows:

1. You must be a Livingston County resident for a minimum of one year.

2. You must be 21 years or older.

3. You must have four references that you have known for at least one year. At least three must be Livingston County residents the fourth maybe a Livingston County resident or a resident of another county.

*additional requirements may exist based on the type of permit you are applying for.
