Livingston County Department of Health Continues to Prepare for Coronavirus

The Livingston County Department of Health continues to work closely with the New York State Department of Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, healthcare providers and community partners to prepare and respond to the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV). The new name of this disease is coronavirus disease 2019, abbreviated as COVID-19. The Livingston County Department of Health has a plan to respond to diseases like COVID-19 which is being updated as new guidance is provided. Our goal is in alignment with the U.S. in implementing an aggressive containment strategy that requires detecting, tracking, and isolating all cases.

As of February 27, 2020, no one has been diagnosed with this new coronavirus in New York State or Livingston County. If you are not in an area where COVID-19 is spreading, or if you have not traveled from one of those areas or have not been in close contact with someone who has and is feeling unwell, your chances of getting COVID-19 are currently low. It is important to stay informed. New Yorkers can call 1-888-364-3065 with questions or concerns about travel and symptoms.
