Livingston County Actively Recruiting for Summer Youth Employment Program

GENESEO, N.Y., Mar. 29, 2023 – The Livingston County Office of Workforce Development is currently seeking to fill numerous vacancies as part of its Summer Youth Employment Program.

The program is open to anyone between the ages of 14-20 that live within Livingston County and meet eligibility requirements including household income.  Applicants in foster care or in households that receive cash assistance, Medicaid, HEAP, SSI and SNAP benefits are automatically eligible.  

“This is a fantastic opportunity for qualifying individuals to gain real-world experience and first-hand knowledge within a variety of career fields,” said Ryan Snyder, Director of the Livingston County Office of Workforce Development.  “This program provides work-readiness training and is a great way to earn money, learn how to interview and so much more.”  

Applications are available for download on the Livingston County Workforce Development website including a Spanish version.  Early applications are strongly encouraged.  Submissions received on or before April 17, 2023 will receive an interview schedule by mail and will take priority the day of the interview.   Applications can also be submitted the day of the interview.  Interviews are scheduled to take place beginning May 1 at each of the local school districts as follows: Honeoye Falls-Lima (May 1), Wayland-Cohocton (May 2), Keshequa (May 3), Geneseo (May 4), Dansville (May 8), Avon (May 9), Livonia (May 10), Caledonia-Mumford (May 11). Mount Morris (May 15) and York (May 16).

Applicants are encouraged to prepare for their respective interview and review Getting Your First Job: A Guide to Youth Employment – a helpful handbook furnished by the Livingston County Office of Workforce Development and Youth Bureau.
