Buckley Honored by Board of Supervisors for Service to our Nation

GENESEO, N.Y., Aug. 23, 2023 – Staff Sergeant Ashley M. Buckley was formally recognized for her dedication and service to our nation at the Board of Supervisors Meeting on Wednesday, August 23, 2023.

Born in Bethesda, Md., Buckley is a graduate of Geneva High School in Geneva, N.Y.  Upon graduation, she enlisted in the United States Air Force Reserves and served honorably from February 22, 2013 to February 20, 2021.

Buckley completed basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas and completed her technical training as an Air Transportation Specialist in Fort Lee, Va. before reporting to her permanent duty station at Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station.

During her tenure serving in Niagara Falls, Buckley was deployed on special assignment twice.  In 2014, she served Temporary Active Duty at the Ramstein Air Base in Germany where she was responsible for the passenger on-loading and offloading of troops to and from Iraq and Afghanistan.  In 2015, Buckley was selected to and worked Presidential Detail on Air Force One out of Andrews Air Force Base in Prince George’s County, Md.  For her military service, Buckley received the National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Reserve Meritorious Service Medal, M-16 Expert Marksman, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Air Force Training Ribbon and Personal Military Education Graduation Ribbon.

Today, Buckley continues to serve as she works with the Livingston County Veteran Services Agency where she provides support to Livingston and Steuben counties as a new Veteran One Stop Center Case Manager for the Staff Sergeant Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program.

Currently, Buckley resides in Geneva with her son.  Her hobbies include hiking, snowboarding, jiu jitsu karate and just being emersed in nature.
