GENESEO, N.Y. Oct. 25, 2023 - Seaman Angela M. Wint-Sherman was formally recognized for her dedication and service to our nation at the Livingston County Board of Supervisors meeting on Wednesday, October 25, 2023.
Wint-Sherman was born in Hornell and is a graduate of Dansville Central School. Upon graduating, she enlisted in the United States Navy serving from April 26, 1993 until her Honorable discharge in January 31, 1995.
Seaman Wint-Sherman completed basic training at Recruit Training Command in Orlando, Fla. and was stationed at Personnel Support Detachment, Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida. During her tenure, she worked Temporary Active Duty (TAD) assignment working Yeoman administrative duties at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas and in Bethesda, Md. before being discharged. For her military service, Wint-Sherman was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.
Upon completion of her military service, she returned home and earned an associate’s degree in Arts at Genesee Community College before working as a tutor at later at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. Today, Wint-Sherman enjoys being outdoors, hiking and spending time with family.
She is an active member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars Auxiliary in Dansville (Post 6780) where she currently resides with her husband Chad and four sons, Blake Carroll, Justin Carroll, Chad Sherman II and Adam Sherman.
